Dipping Your Toe in Social Media

Pharma brand managers around the globe are all struggling with the same question:

“I know my customers are discussing my brand online with all of these new social media tools…..how can we join in the conversation?”

Knowledge is power.  Lets start at the beginning with a definition:

Social Mediaany online property involving user-generated (physician, patient, consumer) content.

Given the importance and breadth of this topic, I have decided to handle it over a number of entries.  In future posts, I will take a look at five key social media platforms you should be aware of as a pharma marketer.   They are:

  1. Physician Social Networks
  2. Patient Social Networks
  3. Wikis
  4. Blogs
  5. Media Sharing sites

For each, I will provide real examples of what is currently being done in the pharma world and what the ramifications are for Canadian pharma marketers.  Stay tuned!
